SteelPad QcK+ Review
After my review of the standard SteelPad QcK mousepad, SteelPad were intrested to see my thoughts of the QcK+ which they belived would be more up my street due to its monster size - and belive me it truely is a monster of a mousepad!
Now i was quite curious to see if anything else - apart from the increase in size - had been improved in the QcK+ from the standard QcK.
When i first looked at the QcK i found issuse with the thickness of the mousepad and also had a few issuse with the new MS Laser mice not working at all on it. You will be happy to know it seems they have fixed the issuses!
Quick facts about SteelPad QcK+
- XXL sized cloth mouse pad - your mouse will never slip off
- Ideal for low sensitivity mouse settings
- Compatible with all mice
- Specially designed non-slip rubber base
- 17,7*15,7in (450mm x 400mm) - thickness 2mm
Once again SteelPad have done another great job with the product packaging. The QcK+ comes in a nice large blue SteelPad branded box, which is very solid and would protect your precious mousepad at any lan you travel too.
I cant get over the size of the QcK+, i love large mousepads and this has to be the largest i have ever seen its a good 2/3 inches larger then Everglides Titan series, but sadly its the same thickness as the QcK which is not a huge issues, but could cause a problem at lans with their dodgy wooden tables
It would seem that SteelPad have changed the way the mousepad response with certain mice, as now the latest range of Microsoft Laser mice work, but strangely my old MS Optical mouse does not (it worked on the QcK) which is weird to say the least.
Conclusion:
Anyone who likes to use a low sense and there full arm to aim will love the QcK+, its large design is more than enough for any gamer, although you would find it tricky to fit it on your desk at a lan. The mousepad is very responsive on almost every mouse i had available to try it on with the only issuse being with the older MS Optical mouse. I have to admit ive put aside my trusted DKT MegaMat which ive used for over 3 years for the QcK+ which says it all really.
PSI just split red bull on the QcK+ and i was shocked to see that it didnt soak any of it up, instead it kept a nice resviour worth of my gaming juice on top of the mat, now that is a great as i always end up spilling drinks on my mats :S
Pros
- Nice packaged and design
- Once placed down, does not move without force
- Good tracking on the Explorer 3.0 and Other mice
- Great Large MousePad
- Does not soak up spillages![]()
Cons
- Didnt work on older MS Optical Mouse
- Still too thin
Final Score 9/10
The QcK+ is a great improvement on the QcK, with its larger design and better support of mice you can not go wrong with this mousepad, i look forward to getting my hands on the newly release QcK Heavy which i hope is just that little bit thicker.

Sorry about the photos, my camera phone was playing up a little bit.
prolly coz of lighting, nice review.
nice review, what would have been a bonus in the review if it had a good basis of comparison to other highly regarded mouse mats
different types of mouse mats hardplastics..metal…other types of cloths..ect a nice little points graph on frictions, sizes, thickness, aesthetics..ect or a combo guide for mice and mats that would be awesome.
actually what should give a better overall judgement on these products would be mark, nik and myself (since we all live relativly close) ‘all’ doing a review of that same product then combining the marks to make the joint review or final mark. what say you phunketh?
by doing so maybe the final score would have been different?
If we do, the way marks review has been structured should stay the same. I do like that, as it is very informative to those who may be wanting to purchase a high-end gamers mouse matt in the near future.
I think if anything it just needed a variety of mice thats what people want really. what it’s like with different mice.
I test them on my MS IE.30, MS Optical 1.0 and the whole MS Laser Range (we have each on at work).
They sadly are the only mice i have to hand to test them with
