mEm vs Mtnine eSports
Match Report
We came into this game with no expectations due to the fact that Rig had was in the middle of moving house and had not played for over a week, let alone play Contra with us.
So with no strats but plenty of heart we went in to the game with the hope of just not embarrassing ourselves, as we was the away team it meant we started as CT’s.
The first half was a bit of a blur we lost only just lost the pistol round and it took us untill the 6th round to break Mtnine’s rhythm, but we did so well by slowly battling it out and taking key rounds untill the half ended 9 - 6 to Mtnine eSports.
With this score line we was a bit taken back as we didnt really expect to get the 10 rounds needed for a win, so after a quick half time talk we decided just to prove are worth within CAL-E and play it hard as we was expecting a loss.
The T half started great with us storming B and taking the much needed pistol round, we then also stormed through to a 6 - 0 lead and it was at this point we thought we could just make it. The next 9 rounds had some amazing battles within them and it ended up 8 - 5 to us with two rounds to play for, we managed to take the first of the last two and we really expected the win.
The last round was one of the most intense rounds ive ever played (Phunky - even more intense then the WCG UK Final game i played in with Reason) We knew they was weak in the B site, so we went for a split play at B and stormed in and took the site got the plant. It was then a pick off untill there was only ubj and two of them. Trav was stuck in the B spiral staircase and the two CTs was rushing towards him one going for ubj and one for the bomb.
Trav managed to take out the first and wait out for the last to com for him but he didnt, he was defusing! So when Trav stormed out to take the kill it was down to the last seconds of the defuse and on the last shot which killed th CT they managed to also get the defuse which brought the game to a draw even though we all thought we won.
After about 2mins of screaming on comms all you could hear was Phunky saying “Guys, they got it - its a draw!” we was gutted but we knew there was overtime to come as in CAL-E their are no draws. But Mtnine seemed to belive they didnt have to and left the server (they had a open cup match to play)
We spoke to the head CAL-E admins and he assured us that we had to play at least one half of overtime and then you could call a draw, so we got everyone back on the server and started again.
I really cant remeber what happen in over time, all i can say is that it was a case of good terrorist play from both sides untill the 3rd set of ovetime where we was able to take a 2 - 1 lead as CT and followed it up by a 2 - 1 win as T to take the win
This was the most amazing game we have played in a LONG time, the Mtnine eSports guys have some very good players and they all have great attitudes.
This was a pleasure to play in
GG and WP all

Was a great game
shame i entered the score wrong on CAL-E forgot to give us the 4 rounds of the final overtime d’oh!
But the scores going to be sorted soon, so we aint lost in CAL-E still
well apart from the Pre-Season loss to Insigna Carde
IMMENCE, was a wikid game, and the guys we played were good, they put up a righteous battle to the end. good sportz, GG to all who played, especially our opposition.

Yep
CAL-E have sorted the score out now, we are still 3rd in CAL-E North although only by RPI differnce, which tbh means nothing at this point in the league as no teams have proper rankings
gg lads!
btw - CAL-E dont except all the overtime rounds so thats why the score on the CAl-E site is 19- 17 to us
I played that game from marks laptop at his joint becuase I was moving house yet it was one of best CAL games I’ve played so far. so close.. awsome.
“It don’t matter wether you win by an inch or a mile.. winnings winning.”
.. gg
Yeah, this was an awesome match! You really played well. I’m looking forward to the rematch later this season, though it’s doubtful if I’ll play it.
No excuses; you beat us fair and square, but it might have been slightly unfair on MTNINEs behalf that the OT had to be played to its full extent! I (CS:S squad manager and trainer) had to step in as one of the line-up players, I came straight from work on an empty stomack! Besides, I hardly play these days due to immense workloads!
Yes this was the match we relized we was back on form with regards to team spirt and confidence.
We knew we was going to have a very hard game on Contra, not only did we not really know the map - we also was unable to play during the week due to Rig moving house and as he says he was playing off my laptop in the sweat pit that is my 40c PC Room
What I’d give to go back and play a game like that. Fantastic game, thats how cs match should be close and everyone playing there hearts out.
