This is something i have personally been waiting on for a long time, the 7G from SteelSeries which is the new Keyboard from the guys from SteelSeries.

Once again it looks like they have created a great product for us gamers, i mean it just looks fantastic

Press Release

Copenhagen, Denmark - November 13th, 2007 — SteelSeries, a leading manufacturer of innovative professional gaming gear, today announced the debut of the new 7G keyboard, the latest addition to the company’s growing portfolio of gaming peripherals. The SteelSeries 7G is a professional gaming keyboard aimed exclusively at professional and competitive gamers.

The SteelSeries 7G sets a new industry standard for gaming keyboards by allowing users to perform a new level of detailed and advanced key combinations. By utilizing the most powerful PS/2 buffer-system ever created for a gaming keyboard, the 7G redefines “anti-ghosting” by supporting as many simultaneous key press commands as there are keys on the keyboard. The keyboard features both PS/2 and USB connectors.

The combination of the powerful PS/2 buffer-system and 18K gold-plated mechanical switches, means that the SteelSeries 7G offers more Actions-Per-Minute than any other keyboard in the world. The keyboard was built specifically to offer gaming grade response times as well as an unmatched durability with a switch lifetime of 50 million operations.

The SteelSeries 7G keyboard is equipped with audio ports for headphone-out and microphone-in and features two port USB hub. In addition, the keyboard offers essential gaming features such as the compact SteelSeries Media Controls, which allows the user quick access to volume, mute and other audio controls.

“Somewhere the industry took a wrong turn when it came to gaming peripherals. It became more important to add colorful lighting and features that have no impact on professional gaming, than to create high quality products, “ says Tino Soelberg, Head of R&D for SteelSeries. “With the 7G keyboard, SteelSeries is following our company line of no-BS / no-nonsense, and to deliver a product that does what it’s supposed to do - help players perform better and faster in-game”.

“SteelSeries 7G was designed for players competing in the traditional eSports platforms, such as Counter-Strike, Warcraft III:TFT, World of Warcraft and many others,” says Jonas “Johnny R” Bollack, SteelSeries development team. “A keyboard has to help the player communicate with his computer by being responsive, durable, reliable and comfortable to use. SteelSeries 7G does just that.”

All keys are operated at 60g, with a travel time of roughly 50% compared to standard keyboards, making the SteelSeries 7G ideal for long gaming sessions. The mechanical tactile system is ergonomically designed to ensure ease-of-use, and the no-click switches makes the SteelSeries 7G both comfortable and pleasant to use.

The new SteelSeries 7G will be released in early December at an MRSP of $149.99 USD.

It would seem the guys at SteelSeries have gone and done something i’ve been hoping they would do for quite some time, they have gone away and used the contacts to develop there very own gaming mouse

The SteelSeries Ikari Optical was designed as a no-bullshit, top performer for FPS gamers. The research and development emphasized a “no nonsense, no crap” approach with proven optical technology that allows gamers consistent, fast movements without technical difficulties of any kind.

The SteelSeries Ikari Laser mouse was specifically designed for RTS and MMO gamers in mind that features programmable macros and custom settings designed to increase the users Actions Per Minute (APM) count. The mouse can be programmed from home and will remember the settings for tournament use even without installing drivers.

I really love the way they have created a Optical and Laser version of the mouse as this will allow you to take the version you prefer - as like me i hate laser mice, well at least ive yet to find a decent one!

SteelSeries Ikari Optical
* Specific design for FPS gamers
* Driverless, plug-and-play feature for LAN gamers
* Pressure points that reduce friction for optimized glide
* Ability to toggle between 2 DPI settings

* Specific designed for RTS & MMO gamers
* Programmable macro buttons with driverless plug-and-play feature
* Pressure points that reduce friction for optimized glide
* Ability to toggle DPI range with LCD readout

I cant wait for this mouse to come out and will be hoping to get my hands on one to review soon!

First off i would like to apologies for the lack of updates with details about #mEm.Lan 6, a few certain things have popped up since the last event which forced us to look at things in greater depth before jumping straight into the next event.

But now that is out of the way we have the ability to start looking forward to the next event and this is where we would like you input.

With all the large upcoming lan events in August we have been thinking of offering a bootcamp service for teams that are looking at playing at i31 and CGS Combine.

We was thinking of running the next #mEm.Lan the weekend before i31 so that teams could have a nice practise run before hand.

Now of course this would mean that we would only be looking at doing CS:S the entire weekend but we will of course still stick up the off Warsow or Rune server (or anything else you want) for when your not playing CS:S

So we would like to know what you think about this? Do you want a i31 warmup event? or would you rather we wait till after August and just go for another Fun #mEm.lan?

The choice is yours!

Please leave a comment with your thoughts!
