CS + Japan + Namco = CS:Neo
![]()
Im sure a few of you have seen this already but for those of you who havent below is a short video of the Counter-Strike:Neo Arcade game released by Namco.
It is basicly Counter-Strike:Source but set in the future i belive it has all the same weapons as CS:Source but it just has its open custom maps and models. I also belive theres a single player version coming out with some crazy Final Fantasy style story line.
It also seem that it has a central database that records each person game stats and ranks player via there stats. Quite a intresting little thing that would be nice to see in public play for Source. Sure we have stuff like HLStats and that but its not global and over all servers now is it?
Below is a short clip of CS:Neo running, its only short and not great quality but you can get a idea of some of the features added to it, its quite intresting to see how large the levels seem to be
I doubt we will ever see this outside of Japan, but i still like the look of those arcade machines although would be better if you could plugin your own mouse and keyboard
You can find out a bit more info on the Offical Counter-Strike:Neo Site although it is all in Japanese so dont expect to understand it.
UPDATE I’ve manged to find a bit of footage of some actual action
so here you go

The hud on this seem really nice
like the way you can see both you guns at the bottom
Amazing.
That is SICK!
omg, thats crazy!!! is that using the source engine?
Yeh, its just a modded CS:Source
looks stupid, like some cs/timecrisis mix.
theyve completely missed the point of counterstrike.. but i guess thats what is going to appeal to the japanese market - the only country that doesnt play CSS / CS1.6
I think its a cool idea from a business point of view, the money is there for the taking, great idea from my perspective apart from the fact that you have to pay and probably alot. I’d give it a shot if it ever comes over here deffo, another thing that really apeals to me is the fact that it’s a tottally equal playing field, all machines are same, connection same.
looks well good, can’t wait till some noob finds a pc emulator for it
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
this is probabaly as fair as you could make css, same network connection, same hardware, same rates!!!!
this should be how competetive css is played!
then we would see who the Realiz Killaz be
wp on getting the video footage mark…..looks very DM but i suppose it is an arcard game right? so they will want you to spend quick and keep spending. hahaha like us suckerz back in the day with the butlins arcade machines LOL
